The Fee Structure Addendum lists the URCA-approved, one-time fees SGCPC charges to review, inspect, and connect a customer-owned solar (PV) system. Fees are current as of the revision date (1 April 2026) and may change.

One-time fees

  • SGCPC bi-directional meter installation: $50
  • PV system application (with or without batteries), covering document review, assessment, and processing: $150
  • Re-application: $150
  • Re-assessment: $50 per assessment
  • Off-grid PV system application: $150, paid to URCA (not SGCPC)

How the fees work

  • Proof of payment is required before SGCPC authorizes a system to operate. These fees do not include Town Council, Ministry of Works, or URCA fees.
  • If your project passes review and inspection the first time, there are no further one-time fees. If it fails a step, that step’s fee applies again each time it is repeated.
  • An incomplete or unclear application counts as a failed review.
  • Systems found operating without approval will be charged these fees when they apply.
  • The meter stays SGCPC property. Grid-tied customers pay a monthly fee for meter use and grid services.
